madrid dia dos

Well, today was fun. I didn't get much sleep last night thanks to the lady next door talking on her phone for what seemed like 3 hours last night at 1 a.m. Oh well, I didn't let it ruin my day. Today I rode around on a double decker bus, hopping on and off at different sites. First hop off was the Prado Museum. But first, here are some photos that I took on my ride over to the art musuem.

The Prado Museum:

I couldn't take pictures of the art, so here are some from the lobby!

This church was next to the museum, I didn't go in it though.

After waiting in line to get in for 30 min, I walked around the museum for about 3 hours. I ate some lunch there but, it wasn't good. Back on the bus!

Since my lunch at the Prado wasn't good, I didn't eat much of it. So when I got off the bus to look for food, I was more than happy to stop and eat here:

Back on the bus to sweat to death:

(good ol' Christopher Columbus)

(I know, it looks like a church. But! It's the Post Office!)

After spotting another H&M, you bet I jumped off the bus and went shopping :) I got a new blouse to wear at work and a pair of shorts. I found another thing I wanted to buy but didn't think I could pull it off:

(it had shoulder pads and everything)

Back on the bus just for a short ride!

Oh, Hey! Look, it's me on the bus listening to the audio guide!

I got off of the bus to go and visit the church I went to yesterday. When I went yesterday, the gift shop wasn't open, so I hit it up today. Got a few things for some friends. The shop wasn't open yet when I first got there so I had some time to kill in the church.

(The sun was shining through the stained glass up around the dome. It was really pretty.)

(As I'm sure you can tell, I really like this church!)

Alright, enough of the pretty church. Back on the bus!

(I sat behind someone who reminded me of my friend Blake back in Lubbock. Haha, HI BLAKE :)

I was hoping to visit another art museum, but turns out it's closed on Tuesdays. There are two of these pillars in front of the museum (which is that building in the back right)

Back on the bus... again. Turns out there was a protest today, but don't worry, I didn't go anywhere close to it.

I was enjoying all the pretty buildings when all of a sudden this interesting hair cut caught my eye:
(Business up front, party in the back??)

This building was designed by the same architect who designed the Twin Towers in NYC:

The futbol arena:

Then, I got off the bus FOR GOOD! Tomorrow I travel by train to Seville to actually start studying abroad!  I highly doubt I will have this many pictures to post tomorrow but, we'll see. Adios!
