WARNING! long post ahead. Granada!

I LOVED GRANADA! I'll let the pictures talk for me.

Inside one of the prettiest Cathedrals I have seen:

Outside the Cathedral on the way into the Royal Chapel where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella are buried. I wasn't allow to take pictures inside the Royal Chapel, but it was really pretty as well.

The side door to the Royal Chapel.

Front entrance of the Cathedral.

After that we just walked around and shopped :)

Then, we went and saw a flamenco show! The place we went to was literally a cave built in the side of the mountain. I loved the show, even though I got stuck sitting in the back.

The next day we headed to The Alhambra. I LOVED IT! It was so very pretty.

The Palace of King Charles V. He built it after he and his wife honeymooned in Granada but never actually lived in the palace. After his wife died, he stopped building it because he didn't want to be where he would be reminded of his dead wife.

Inside the Palace where know a days they hold philharmonic concerts during the summers! We didn't actually get to go inside any of the rooms but it was still a sight to see.

Next stop in The Alhambra: the palace next to a palace next to a palace. Seriously! They are all connected and they all had different owners at different times.

A room where when the Moors owned the Palace would have people come in and be judged according to their crime. Then, when the Christians took over, they turned it into a chapel.

A view from a window where a moorish ruler would pray 5 times a day to Mecca.

Oh this next picture is no big deal, just me standing in the room where Christopher Columbus came and asked Queen Isabella and Kind Ferdinand for funding to go to the new world.

What I was supposed to be seeing:

Instead I got this view:
I guess you have to renovate every now and then.

In this room there is a little pool of water used to show the reflection of the ceiling but there was no water in the pool so we used our sunglasses instead.

View of some of the city from the Alhambra

This spot was in the running as one of the seven modern wonders of the world. It ended up in 8th place.

Moving on to the next place of visit! The military fort right next door.

View of the Cathedral from the military fort.

Not fair? I'll tell you what not fair is... sweating way too much only to look at the surrounding mountains and see SNOW.

Fun fact: Napoleon blew this sucker up at one point in time through history. The maze looking thing was rebuilt to show what the fort used to look like.

Last stop! The summer palace of Isabella and Ferdinand including a very pretty garden.

THE END!

This week is going to be fun. Thursday we are going to another beach. Friday we're heading our way to Logos, Portugal stopping along the way at three sites that have something big to do with Christopher Columbus. I'll be staying in Portugal till Sunday.
